Dunno, I worked with my cousin in a frozen banana stand for a summer and it went pretty well.

1. Lives in France.

There’s nothing fair about it. Khalid Masood, who did the Westminster Bridge attack, was born in Kent. Salman Abedi, who did the Manchester bombing, was born in Manchester. These latest three will probably be the same. “England” didn’t kill anyone who was “left” in relation to them.

Yeah, we go all around the world subjugating people and nicking their stuff, then complain when they follow us home.

What press are you reading? The notoriously racist Daily Mail? Yes, we are keeping calm. The UK has survived decades of terrorism, and these murderous cockthistles aren’t going to succeed where others have failed. Yes, people are angry, but we’re angry at Theresa May saying “enough is enough” as if it’s all someone

There will always be people who think it achieves something to kill a bunch of people, other than make everyone who is left really pissed at them.

Now playing

Yep, it’s the British way. Keeping on keeping on.

In my humble opinion....Alec ain’t wrong.

People can call me islamaphobic if they want, but the problem is that the islamic world is far, far right wing and the majority believe in political islam. Islam desperately needs a progressive liberal reformation as advocated by muslims like Irshad Manji and Majid Nawaz. It needs a sexual liberation movement. It

This has nothing to do with cultural appropriation. You’re not even applying the concept properly.

It’s also something that can be overcome though. The dead stay dead.

You are free, of course, to think whatever you like. I understand, in the specific instance, that an artist who created a finished piece was later compelled by a segment of the public to destroy his creation. Beyond that, there is no point in continuing this discussion as your intelligence and morality are so far

I mean they died, but it’s like whatever, nbd.

Everyone gets to have an opinion and express said opinion on events in any format they so choose. Artists included. Regardless if you like it or think they are entitled to it. You are absolutely entitled to think it’s not appropriate just as much as the artist is entitled to produce such art. You don’t have to agree

I think it’s immensely, immensely and morally wrong how much money we have gotten as opposed to the money, love, kindness that has been given to that little girl.

the art piece is in response to white american imperialist/colonialist violence and genocide against non-whites, so i don’t see how ownership over telling a story applies here. in other cases, maybe, but this was a white artist responding to violence committed by white peoplefor the sake of national hegemony and

Huh. That actually makes me like the piece more. It’s pretty rich commentary abt how America sweeps the worst of its history under the rug.

Agreed. Art is meant to stir the soul, heart and mind. Not everyone is going to like or even want to tolerate every piece of art made. Unless the artist themselves support the removal of the piece, it should stay put regardless.

“The Walker has also agreed to never construct this artwork again. Durant has also reportedly confirmed he will never create Scaffold again and will also transfer the intellectual property rights to the Dakota people”

So, people offended, so you’re going to ceremoniously burn art, then vow to never do the art again,

Ummm... regardless of your opinion on this, I’m not sure any solution that ends in “burning art” is a great one.
