That's the thing. Trump may have inadvertently stumbled onto a good point, but let's not pretend he's Howard Zinn or anything.

I yelled at a mime to stop following me in Seattle, probably around 2005. Maybe he passed the messaged along.
i shouldn't want to fuck mr. clean this much! another grim missive from trump's america
It's an utterly gorgeous melody, though.
Do you think it reflects on the US as being killers, though?
That's sort of beside your point, I know, but I still find it utterly insane that that was one of the expansions of the drone warfare program that occurred under Obama.
What about killing US citizens with drone attacks?
That's what's so insane about this. Trump likes the model of killing people and the strength that implies.
The meme popped up because Scalia was considerably more vocal than Thomas, so it was assumed Thomas as an empty suit. He's a lunatic, but he's just a quiet one.
Nixon was on one of the assorted HUACs, so if they want to keep HUAC and some star power they can just use him.
Glad Other People got recognized in the Limited Release category, it's a really nice movie with some awesome performances in it.

If Fences loses its momentum (and Hidden Figures continues on its current track), I could see Spencer winning Best Supporting Actress. But yeah, it's more likely it will win Best Adapted. I think Moonlight is still the favourite in the category though.
I liked Hidden Figures more than I expected, but its screenplay was not too remarkable.
This is a great reminder of how much I hated Thumbersucker. Super excited to see 20th Century Women though!

I wasn't a huge fan of Streep's speech because it did seem a little more like "wealthy celebrity lecturing", but these seemed more personal and immediate.
God, I realized the exact same thing earlier this year. Why do I keep watching the Oscars??
Yes! Saw this mentioned a few times on Twitter. Great performance in a neat movie.
That film, though not perfect, had a remarkable supporting cast. Hurt is excellent in it.
Human Planet is good! Like Planet Earth, but with a focus on human populations all over the world. Gorgeous footage, and obviously Hurt's narration is perfect.
