They’re recyclable, too. We keep a few around for lunch bags when we don’t care if they come back home at the end of the day. If they do, we wash them and use them again until they’re too worn to seal well and then they go into the recycle bin.

Given how badly my local KFC can fuck up any order, I can see this making things an order of magnitude worse.
I also got this exact spam in our calendar yesterday, even though I had already had it all shut off. I say “ours” because, although I disallowed events, the person I share the calendar with didn’t.
Yeah, we have a “Medical” calendar we share with the whole family to keep track of stuff for my husband’s cancer treatment. I would definitely notice if random stuff started showing up there, and having to take the time to remove it all would really piss me off.
My mother sewed a lot of my clothes when I was young, and most of them were pretty much as awful as you might expect. But she found a pattern for elephant pants and made me several pairs. My favorites were lavender with zodiac signs printed on them in white. The day I outgrew them was a sad day.
My 7th grade math teacher had shoes just like these. She wore them with elephant bells jeans on Fridays.
I guess you need to be better at it. If you need a role model, Miller is there for you.
14 years ago, the science fiction writer John Scalzi, who grew up poor, wrote an essay titled, Being Poor. It starts, “Being poor is knowing exactly how much everything costs.”
I have young classmates now who have huge amounts of student loan debt. (I do too, but I knew what I was getting into. At my age, I’m likely to die before I get it paid off.) They don’t think $100k is a big deal, because, quoting one young woman, “I only make $20k now and I can support myself. When I’m in practice, I…
By raw numbers, yes; proportionally, no. According to the Kaiser Family Foundation (2017 figures), nearly twice as many white folks are poor compared to black folks. But given that black folks make up around 13% of the population of the U.S., that’s vastly disproportionate.
33 lbs. according to the description on Amazon. Which is why I just bought 2, one for me and one for my husband, to hang our backpacks at school. Thanks!
Simple: Hot water, dish soap, bottle brush. I recommend OXO’s $4 brush, it works great and is very durable.

Bear in mind my husband’s officemates are largely technically ignorant, so they want things that may be difficult or impossible to implement in Windows natively.
The Playstation classic is already only available from third parties.

You would be mistaken in your assertions, so maybe you should take a look at Display Fusion for yourself to see all the ways it makes up for Windows’ lack of functionality.
I don’t need something like DisplayFusion but my husband and his office mates do. Most of their office uses multiple monitors and they just don’t understand that Windows doesn’t allow them to do certain things, but it looks like DF will solve that problem. Since he’s their unofficial tech guy, you just made his life…
They also boast that you can manually flip the fan around in the window to turn it into an exhaust fan, which is a frankly hilarious selling point

Thanks. It was a shock (turned up on a routine blood test) but his prognosis is good.
Agreed. It might not have made any difference at all, but she never had the chance to find out. My husband lives with an incurable cancer, and so although early detection wouldn’t have made any difference in the ultimate outcome, it has made a huge difference in treatment which will hopefully increase his survival…
