It was a great performance in a great film. I’d love to hear more about how Forman cast her in the first place, and why this and Man on the Moon didn’t lead to more. A two-time Oscar winning director casts you as a lead twice, and that’s the end of your run?  Strange.

99% of companies would have released a statement about how offended they were, and deleted every comment.

Yeah, but that was as of this morning. By now she’s probably well over a hundred.

I’m not against any porn parody in principle but given “rogering” is already a synonym for “fucking”, “Mr. Rimjob” is an exceedingly lame name for this, so no clicks from me!

No because your stuff sucks.

...their delicious birds

I want to lodge a formal objection and nominate the Anderson tweet for Best Tweet Ever. Such a glorious unintentional self-roast needs to be preserved for future generations to appreciate.

Billy Idol is the cherry on top of this movie’s delicious sundae.

Lovitz.

Sandler’s character is so sweet and soft-spoken in this when he’s established, that it makes moments like this work better because they’re such a contrast to the “real” him - who he is when he’s happy and in his element.  Normally, those sorts of jarring tics of his are part in parcel with his character, which just

Wonderful article. One of the best I’ve seen on here in a bit.
It’s too rare in the media landscape to see someone praise something unabashedly and then ALSO back it up with sound reasoning and analysis. It’s fun and a nice change of pace from the rampant negativity and snobbery found on media sites.

But he doesn’t know Julia is actually thinking about marrying him. A great way to keep them apart, but not annoying because it

Also, of course this movie was set 13 years before its release. If that were done today we’d be seeing a loving tribute to 2006.

I fucking love this movie.

(Trade papers say a show’s been cancelled. McGinley picks up his cell phone.)

“It’s done. Deposit the amount in my account.” (click)

Married ... with Children ran 262 episodes. McGinley played Jefferson D’Arcy on 168 of them. That’s a long time for a show to be “near death.”

And yet, somehow attempted to be inclusive of black and gay nerds (all male of course). Not exactly woke, but i feel like it was trying.

It’s not a defense against being found guilty, but it can be used to mitigate punishment.

I don’t think any new precedents are being set here. VidAngel took content of which they did not have a license to distribute, altered that content (to suit their own morality), and then attempted to sell it as a new product without paying the owner of the original product. I can’t honestly say that falls into any

Mr. Skin cuts out all the good bits and sells them on his own site, and the rest gets sold off to VidAngel as wholesome entertainment.  That’s using all parts of the buffalo right there.
