Grapes of Wrath needed to be half the length. Every chapter of story is followed by the extremely heavy handed chapter repeating the moral from the story chapter, but with random characters. In high school I was also convinced that Steinbeck simply forgot that the character of Noah existed, which is why he’s not

I made it harder for myself by choosing animals based only on their cuteness. I loved that duck but it was not super useful.

It took me literal years to beat that game. As a kid I could never get what that stupid clue about the desert was telling me to do. In grad school I found my old copy, and was able to look up the answer on the internet.

I’m getting close to the end of my first play through of Fire Emblem Three houses. Team Edelgard all the way. So far literally everything I’ve learned about the world through listening to the support conversations tells me she’s 100% right.

Me too. They make him so absurdly English, but insist that his family has been in France for ages. England conquering it was the only way it made sense.

The book also seems pretty firmly on the its all in her head side too though. When I read it I was surprised by how unambiguous it was, there didn’t seem to be any support for the ghosts being real.

The kid who plays Miles in The Innocents is excellent too. So damn creepy doing the poetry recital to the ghost.

I like greens, but hate the way they’re most often cooked. Too many people boil the hell out of them until they taste like farts. A light saute and they’re good.

Why didn’t you just ask for salt?

Is it clear that rape is bad? If the woman isn’t heard screaming, execution for her. Did people agree that the rapist was guilty, she has to marry him. Keeping women and girls from conquered nations as sex slaves? Cool with God. Lot offering up his daughters to be gang raped? He’s the one good man in the city. The

Fans getting way too invested and hassling creators is nothing new. I had an edition of Old Curiosity Shop with an introduction where they included a selection of the angry letters Dickens got about Nell. Granted, the spelling a grammar were better than you see in internet comments, but the sentiment was the same.

X Files - Ghosts Who Stole Christmas

Right? The actors are so great together, but knowing the future makes all their interactions sad.

That was the exact opposite of the theme. If Poe had followed orders, and if Finn hadn’t run off, her plan would have worked and everyone would have been saved. The point was, sometimes the cocky rebellious move isn’t the right one, and people need to listen to those with experience.

Colin Baker also appeared as another character before being the Doctor. Reusing actors is practically a tradition.

Its puzzling because she is given a very similar introduction to Gwen on Torchwood, which Chibnall was the head writer of. But with Gwen, her drive was front and center. It was the core of the character, in both a good and bad way. It made her want to do more, but also led her to make bad choices sometimes and caused

Yaz was specifically introduced as a character who wanted to prove she was capable of taking on new challenges and responsibilities. Instead she follows along like a duckling, is there to ask the infodump questions, and shows zero initiative or curiosity.

Have you listened to Dimension Cannon? Its fantastic, really captures the feel of the best Davies era stories.

It sounds like the companions and Doctor will be more of the same bland nicey-nice. The characters are different people, they should have different points of view. There should sometimes be friction between them. Having heroic characters who care about each other doesn’t mean that there should never be conflict.

The script wasn’t the issue there, it was Davies insisting on her being “sexy”.
