They don’t want consumers confused when they search for videos of cool new Mario levels and they get ones made on unauthorized software, which has lots of options Mario Maker doesn’t. Taking down the videos also has the advantage of inhibiting the use of such unauthorized software, which people who don’t own Wii Us…
It’s usually a pirated copy — let’s face it, way more people download emulators than buy cartridge data dumping devices. And even when it isn’t, while keeping a backup copy is fair use (depending on your local laws!), running it on unauthorized hardware is not.
