It’s nice that we’re all over Ace’s death enough now to blithely pose with his murdered corpse.

You make some valid points, but Valve wasn’t taking 75% themselves. Valve’s cut was 30%. Being that they are the distribution platform, they’re right to take their cut. The remaining cut was meant to be something that the publishers decided. Bethesda chose to take 45%, leaving the remaining 25% for the modder.

Poorly made/Overpriced mods would go away as soon as people found out that no one wants them. I mean, I can put ketchup on a cracker, call it a pizza, and sell it for $30 a slice, but that doesn’t mean anyone would buy it.

Im really trying to see both sides here. And honestly, it’s really hard to say either side is clearly in the wrong or clearly in the right. I wouldn’t want to see the workshop flooded with poorly made and overpriced mods, but at the same time I would love to see some modders compensated for some high quality mods, and

Yep I have been saying that. After what we saw happen this weekend I wouldn’t want to be a modder anymore. The community obviously doesn’t give a shit about you. Their only solution is a donation button or a pay what you want with the option to pay nothing despite these having existed forever and no one basically ever

I’m only sending wonder hugs to dat body.

Of course, because making a mod and an entire game with script, music, actors, capture and marketing is exactly the same right? Dont be childish. You are just a cheap ♥♥♥ who dont want to pay for someone elses work.

I’m not surprised some modders are feeling kinda spat on with the amount of push back these gamers have made.

And people forget DayZ only happened because the guy was working for BI as a temp and was doing it to learn how to use their systems.

Pretty much exactly what mod developers are saying. Even ARMA modders have attempted to go to this, such as the guys behind Six Updater (and even ACRE makes money as they sell an advanced version of that famous radio mod for the military grade version of Bohemia Interactives ARMA 3, VBS3. )

Obama to Japanese Prime Minister: “If I tell everyone to love anime, will you finally make a sequel to Dragon Ball Z?”

You know Obama loves him some damn Sailor Moon.

I still like the SNES Shadowrun the best to date. It was great!

The financial incentives reason alone is a good enough reason to do it. Encouraging better mod makers in with money is a good way to attract talent.

It will, if it wants or not.

Jesus this looks so brutal... Link the twitch stream plz.
