You got it. Ms. Heigl requested not to be submitted for Emmy consideration because she thought the writing for her character was not up to standards

Eh, she totally deserved at least one win. but I’m a “spread the wealth” gal when it comes to the Emmys: after your second win, be a peach and withdraw your name (actors have to submit themselves for consideration) so that another worthy performer has a chance.

I loved that he said it all matter of fact. Like, I shouldn’t have to explain this.

Andy Murray is generally pretty great and had a woman coach for quite some time (which is just not done by men or even most women.)

He seems like a good egg. And a serious fan of the Williams sisters.

The right on red people can be so dangerous if they only look for the traffic coming from their left and not pedestrians coming from the right.

I love the reaction this article has gotten, as if it is some massive shock that, yes, the fashion world is a shallow, competitive industry designed to push over priced clothes that no one needs, enforce insane physical beauty standards, and value “artistic spirit” over practicality or sustainability.

Agreed. Grief is different for everyone, but this is uncomfortably soon, particularly considering there’s a fairly young child involved that needs time to sort through all of the associated emotions with losing her mom and gaining a stepmother.

Why are you taking this so personally? It’s obvious it’s just an opinion.

I came here to say exactly this.

Big holes in our hearts allow for people to fall in, whether we’d like them to or not. Perhaps not the most eloquent metaphor, but very close to the truth.

He seems lovely and I wish everybody well (for whatever random internet commenter wishes count for). But geez this feels so fast to me.

...they have stacks of containers right next to the ingredients for normal operation, which is a container for a single side or another extra (like guac.) You don’t want to run back to grab more containers every few orders, so you stock as many as possible on the bar itself. That is SOP, but putting everything inside

*nitpicks woman’s every move since she was a teenager

Whenever I find myself getting annoyed at these bizarrely uptight assholes who judge others for chewing gum (of all the damn things), I just remember that they’re also the kind of people who think things are “classy” and “low class.” ...And then I smile smugly to myself.

I know she was fun *at the time* (I remember being 11 and all the Britney mania). I don’t begrudge her the success. I just do not get the longevity. It bewilders me. There are a lot of pretty girls with nice bodies who can dance and lipsynch and put on a great show! Good for Britney, I just don’t get it.

You are not an asshole. I’ve never understood why she is considered “talented”. Her...”music”...is mostly just this weird, nasal based growl and repeating the words “baby” and “crazy”.

I don’t want to sound like an internet asshole, but I’m surprised Britney is still a thing. She was never a Whitney or a Beyonce. She can dance and she’s a decent performer, but there are a lot of very talented women in pop music today who can actually sing and dance their asses off.

Even queens of female empowerment can have shitty personal lives. I’d even wager that *most* of them do. Being a role model isn’t about being perfect. I’d don’t think anyone should glamorize Bey’s marriage, but I don’t think that should stop anyone from admiring her for the command she has in her career.
