I seem to recall reading old articles that said they weren't that great, maybe it was the road bike they panned.

Suzuki Water Buffalo, Bimoto Tesi,
I live a few miles south of PAFB. I drive by it sometimes when I go to the mainland. I guess I haven't payed close attention to the aircraft in a while. I usually see C-130s, Orions, C-17s, SAR Blackhawks, used to see NASA Hueys. Once in a while an A-10, the odd fighter, some DEA OV-10s training South American pilots.
I don't know about a diesel R8 on the way. I did however sit in a diesel V10 R8 prototype (road car) at Sebring back in 07. That car later burnt to the ground while testing. The transmission couldn't take the abuse. I think there was another diesel prototype that suffered a similar fate. IIRC Audi gave up on the idea…
That front end looks the same to what I used to see being used as an aircraft tug at Patrick Air Force Base.
I agree, I drove a 1969 912 in Polo Red. That was an interesting car. Had some car cancer, and I was in college. It was not fated to last... That was only ten years ago.
Duplicate post.
The current crop of Mazda's look like they're aping the old RX-3s. (A bit before my time though)
This car would be the ideal image to use for my avatar.
I camped out in my Miata at Sebring and Road Atlanta... after I removed the passenger seat for the occasion.
That would make a great name for a race team.
Relevant.
Reverse 2-stroke racing.
It's even frightening if you're riding a motorcycle and a car hits you. Painful too.
That bubbly redhead certainly is a stunner—-then AND now. I think I'm safe from the hoard over at Jezebel. Oh! The Imp was also interesting too.
Can you do a feature or QOTD about Kammback cars?
WHY DID YOU TURN!?!
Well isn't the GT40 British? What with Lola doing a lot of the initial design.
 Yes. Unique.
Well maybe some of the younger people here are not as familiar with an eighty year old company of which Audi was just a part (Auto Union). Audi became separate and the "face" of the company in 1969. Oh by the way, my name is also Mike G. Don't call me Mikey.
