Interesting. I didn’t face any kind of weird downsell when we bought our volt, but I’m in the SF Bay Area where the cars were pretty much selling themselves because of the tax credits and HOV lane sticker eligibility. I tried negotiating price over email with a number of dealers but none really came down much.

A 5800 sq ft house out in urban sprawl isn’t really a green choice no matter where your energy is coming from.

The facelift is just fine. I was really hoping for news of a hybrid version. A plug in Ridgeline would be my perfect everyday driver

So you are butthurt then? I honestly don’t know what you are complaining about. It’s a critique and a pretty mild one at that. Yeah this author is exaggerating with the made up 99% stat. Just because you find it condescending doesn’t make it untrue.

I wasn’t a big fan of all the creases on the Sonata, but I think it works well on this car. Helps proportion the car.

Flintstones Edition

my first thought when the video started - either he’s been hitting the gym or all the frantic wrenching is a really great workout. forearms and triceps are looking swole!

Yeah was hoping they would at least confirm the rumor that there will be one. Holding out for the plug-in version of this or the Ranger

It’s the intervention he needs. Everyone here has just been an enabler

I’m a UI designer. Not a huge sketcher, but his pen was the first thing I noticed!

Current 2nd gen volt owner since 2018. It’s been a great little car. Mostly driven by wife for her 50 mile round trip work commute (at least it was pre-COVID). In the beginning she was terrible about plugging it in after returning home. Now she loves how much it saves her on gas stops. I like that we use it for road

I don’t think they’re trying to sell many of these. They are going all in on this being a track/enthusiast car. This seems like a strategy to sell more of the now mid-tier Vs. The old V’s were too much for most people so they’ve watered it down so it’s more obtainable/reasonable. I think the reason they kept the V in

I read the headline and wanted to go straight to the comments to call you a nut bag. But finished the post and actually got inspired. If ever there was a time to drop the excuses and get shit done this feels like it. Having read about your other mad wrenching sprees I believe you can do it. Good luck

I bought my Astra from Saturn of Colma in Sep of 2008 and then this dealership closed up 1 month later. The picture appears to be accurately labeled as 2009 because the lot is empty, but nobody was buying Saturns there in 09.

I’ve sat a Colorado, Tacoma and Ridgeline. The Ridgeline feels way roomier. Towards the end of last year there were some pretty good deals on Colorados so was considering one, but they just feel way behind the Ridgeline. Things like active cruise control aren’t even an option

See “Salty” on urban dictionary

I was very tempted. A dealer was offering one with $10k in discounts. Coulda, woulda, shoulda.

This seems like it will be directly competing with the Ridgeline even if it’s smaller. I’m saving up for a Ridgeline and hope to have the funds in 10 months. Should be just in time to see what the production Santa Cruz looks like

I’m waiting for them to bring their hybrid tech to the Ridgeline
