Does the insurance just cover one person or anyone driving?
Does the insurance just cover one person or anyone driving?
Are the bells and whistles in the Vision and Advanced packages worth it? i.e. do they function well enough that they would actually help someone who is a nervous driver? I’m asking for my wife
My first attempt to do replace my own brake pads I needed a breaker bar to get the caliper bolts loose. I just assumed I’d use the same tool to put them back on and ended up cracking them off. But now I know.
Back in college I was preparing to make the 8 hour drive home for winter break. Being the procrastinator I was (and mostly still am) I decided the morning of the drive to change the oil in my car. No doubt a simple task, but one I had never done myself. I went to the store to pick up the oil then setup in the driveway…
Could you elaborate more on how the system feels to use on long stretches? I haven’t used autopilot so the advantages aren’t immediately obvious to me. I imagine the temptation to look around or look down at my phone would be pretty strong but with this system being strict about keeping eyes on the road, what are you…
The seller forgot to mention the added front bumper spoiler made from a rubber garage door seal. I own an Astra and participated on the forums. That’s a real mod people have done. With little aftermarket support for these, people were pretty desperate to find things to modify.
Fellow Astra owner and though mine isn’t falling apart as bad, can confirm this post is accurate. My favorite feature is that the 24 hour clock falls 5 minutes behind in just a month. It’s been a trusty little car though so I’m not complaining. But now I need to go check my roof rails for leaks because the coating…
Looks like it was designed using LEGOs
Getting new tires for the wife’s DD, oil change, and stick up the new dashcam
Professional UI designer here and yes this is a terrible design fail. In design 101 you learn about creating affordances - the cues that let users know how they can interact with an object. For example, the size and shape of a knob dictates how it can be gripped, which cues you that it can be twisted. A lot of readers…
What did you decide to go with instead?
I was also shocked by the rollover from a deflecting sideswipe of a much smaller car. You see the Kia Soul driver brake as soon as things start going bad. The Caddy looks like it may have even sped up. Bad decisions all around
I work in tech as a designer. I once had a project manager critique my designs while wearing a Ferrari t-shirt. I didn’t take his feedback too seriously.
The Cutlass on white walls was cool
Nice! Our stable is a bit similar.
I’m still a label or two behind at “interaction designer” but have held on to it since it describes my area of focus and interest. I’m sure the day I do change is the day everyone will have moved on to the next label.
The terms “UX”/“User Experience” were turned into corporate buzzwords long ago but now they’re truly jumped the shark being used to name a car.
I know! That was crazy. From that impact I couldn’t believe his head wasn’t cracked open or he wasn’t a mangled mess. He was still conscious! Maybe low frame rate made the impact seem more severe?
My fiancee and I commute together in her 03 Corolla. I’m so bored of driving the thing but she doesn’t want to replace it until it dies. Unfortunately for me, it’s only got 200k miles on it.
Mind blown. Explains so much about so many people. Way to live up to your username.
