Looks for Charentais melons, they are small but highly fragrant and delicious. The problem is they have a tiny ripeness window and don’t transport well so I’ve never seen them at the grocery store. I used to get them at the farmers market though. One is usually a perfect breakast serving size.

Truffles are commercially farmed and harvested, it just takes about 15 years and a good bit of expertise and luck to get a crop going. 

Balsamic vinegar doesn’t belong on caprese salad if the tomatoes are actually decent home grown ones, it overwhelms not compliments great tomatoes. If the tomatoes are bland I’d allow a light drizzle of middle tier DOP balsamic.
