The ONE comment they have on their first comment page about ‘the left’ is them complaining that the left always lets ‘the right’ control the narrative, which is true. Democrats are horrendous about messaging, by and large. Looking at the rest of their comments, they pretty obviously have a liberal mindset.
Lizzo the Barbarian
I’m pretty sure that was sarcasm, but you can never be totally sure anymore.
There’s a literal law passed by congress in 1893 that barred the Pinkertons from being hired by the Federal Gov. They’re notorious through out US history so mentioning their name is important enough imo
I think the reason to focus on the Pinkerton name is that it kind of underlines the lie that Wizards is telling by saying that they didn’t expect this outcome.
idk, the pinkerton name feels extremely relevant given the wizards claim that “under no circumstances would we instruct any employee or contracted agency to intimidate an individual.”
It’s almost exclusively due to how notorious the Pinkerton’s are in American history, and how generally ruthless they’ve been even recently when it comes to situations like this. It’s one of those “holy shit, y’all really DID pick the absolute WORST possible entity to help “resolve” this issue” kind of thing. That’s…
I think the brand name is important, because of the historical associations with Pinkertons. If you hire the literal Pinkertons, who identify themselves to people as such, you know exactly the historical connotations of intimidation and underhanded violence/hired thuggery that entails, and choosing to use them over…
We always hated them too, just so you know
Yay! No slideshows!
Oh hey, you IMAGINED an argument I didn’t make, and then insulted me over it! Great job! Thumbs up! You get a gold star!
I don’t even know where to start with this. Dodge rolling has always been a dumb, overused mechanic that is mostly the fault of Souls games at this point, and even there, it was limited by equipment weight and stamina.
I’d say the most controversial change is stuffing the game with microtransactions and live service bullshit in an effort to create a perpetual money machine for sex criminal executives.
Wasn’t it Django Unchained where one of the white actors felt really bad about saying that word until his black costar reassured him that it was necessary for the role?
I don’t think this reviewer is joking. This is the most unintentionally hilarious thing I’ve ever read. Martin doesn’t even understand my Blazing Saddles was progressive.
I’ve seen it a grip of times (even studied it in a semester on Westerns; it fits in very interestingly with a lot of revisionist westerns of the 60s/70s, and ages better than many). Last watched it about a year ago.
Blazing Saddles...at least aspired to comment on the bigotry it depicts.
This seemed like a really straightforward point to me. Maybe we’ve finally reached the point where “buzzword” is being used as a meaningless buzzword?
“Whether or not its predecessor holds up (fully or even in part) to contemporary standards of sensitivity, Blazing Saddles not only enlisted Richard Pryor as a screenwriter but at least aspired to comment on the bigotry it depicts.”
