I’m glad you did this, and at the same time, it makes me very, very sad.

I’m reading the book.

I hate to be THAT guy that makes this comment, but yeah of course, since forever.

Let’s face it, we need to raise taxes to a level that matches ordinary countries and create a national health service. There’s no freedom in spending hours on the phone with insurance companies every time you need to see a medical professional.

I moved to Japan in the summer of ‘96 as Koshien was going on. The first few days I was there I lay on tatami mat jetlagged and sweating (my AC never really worked) watching the tournament. It was my first real introduction to Japanese culture - incrdible how much people were into it, and yes, something like college

OK, but people try to be polite when they give way to others when they, themselves have the right of way - that’s a very easy way to get in an accident. How about we all just follow the actual rules rather than some right-on Jalopnik-reader group-think interpretation?

A motorcycle behind you lane splitting is a hazard? I would think that I would be the hazard for the motorcycle, not the other way round.

I’m not sure where you got the idea that I’ve “NEVER seen a car” do this. I see it all the time.

So it’s legal to drive partially on the shoulder? I see your point, but if we’re all expected now to start driving on the shoulder to allow motorcyclists more room, then driving is going to start getting a lot more complicated. Why not just have dedicated motorcycle lanes?

Isn’t the guy in the car that filmed all this at fault, too? He left his lane and went onto the shoulder. Shoulders aren’t there for people to move onto to be nice to people on motorcycles. This created a space that the lane changer wouldn’t have expected to appear, through which the motorcyclist passed through at

He’s going to end up in China.

Another way to look at this is that an inexperienced, mostly young squad with no Rooney (and, therefore, no automatic “England captain”, as Southgate discussed) in it is a break from the past and a new direction for the team.

Christ, he alleged that an intelligence service of our closest ally - the UK’s GCHQ - was complicit in this. Even if that is true, no sane President would dare breathe that in public.

“Looking for something that just wasn’t there” - that rings true. I think the only true class he discovered from relative obscurity was Bobby Wood. Diskerud and Johannsson as international players were stretches of the imagination, to name just a couple he selected.

I like it, except I’m not sure Lallana fits there or, indeed, anywhere.

Rimando always looks too small to be a convincing top flight goalkeeper.

I was thrilled when Klinsmann was appointed but the sensation didn’t last. I don’t think he ever knew who his best players were, nor what his system was. The chopping and changing and experimenting with players out of position was exasperating.

Justin Short, amirite?

I am humbled by your genius.

Abrams tanks would be vulnerable in a shooting war with China or Russia.
