On an old carbureted car it's not that unusual to spit a little fire out the carb when you're first getting it dialed in. I've lit the top of probably 10 carbs on fire doing this - and the fix actually is to keep cranking. Once it catches it will put the flame out.
The roofline looks very Chrysler to me. About the same build quality, too!

I actually have always liked the way the G37's sound. They are one of the few import cars that at least have character in their exhaust note, even if it is a tarted up Nissan.
