I pretty much agree. Legally nobody can fault the photographer for including the photo of the license plate - it's on display to hundreds of people. But it's the considerate thing to do to blur it and respect people's privacy. One of those "things you can do" versus "thinks you should do" kind of things.

If I were to think about it, I'd imagine it's the delta price that's making people antsy. So while everyone else says "oh but you have it cheaper than we do" that may be true, but it's also totally irrelevant.

UK it's tax-related, so you're comparing apples to oranges. The whole transportation infrastructure is also utterly different in Europe, again, apples to oranges. The dependence on the car is much less.
