To which they will ask, what’s a car? As they get on a hyperloop on Mars.

I agree, but knowing GM they will shoot themselves in the foot in the long run anyways, as they’ve always done.
Tesla is using 3mm thick 30X cold rolled stainless steel that is 300 series. They didn’t say which specific other than it is proprietary one they use at SpaceX.
The shape is mostly based on optimal aerodynamics while maintaining the stainless steel. They are also using much tougher stainless steel than the one used on the DeLorean.
You are underestimating the THICKNESS of the stainless steel.
The stainless steel design kind of limits what they can do with the Truck. Musk said there will be a slightly smaller truck that is more normal for Europe and they’ll probably also make it available in US too.
“The point is more that Tesla doesn’t really have much competition right now, and certainly not competition of the game-changing variety that GM offered to Ford a century ago.”
The cybertruck was designed the way it was due to the metal being limited on what you can do with it. Tesla did say they plan a more normal truck in the future. So to say it was designed for EV fans isn’t the case.
The SEC really needs to look into these reverse mergers, many of them are done to cover up information to the public that they would normally have to release.
It’s because in asia, strong arming is considered normal. Now that doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen here in the US too, but US still has more individual protection, so as long as you can get the money, you can be in court indefinitely.
Until they make EV platforms from scratch, it’s hard to say they are being serious. A hybrid platform that happens to also be available as an EV platform just means compromises for the EV version.
1) PHEVs are a good option for the minority, but for the majority, BEVs are more than plenty. As for your worry about thanksgiving, only 6.6% of people who travel over 50 miles on thanksgiving travel over 500 miles. That is about 4 million people. And this includes ALL form of transport, aka, once you go over 1000…
1) I think for the minority that need to drive more than BEVs have to offer, PHEVs are a good middle ground solution. And with time, everyone’s needs will be filled.
What’s a luxury car these days? The average price of cars keep going up and options in general cars are matching the luxury cars.
The Zoe will not be more important than anything Tesla makes. And for the following reasons:
I’ve seen. back when Georgia had those crazy incentives the Leaf was virtually free.
The biggest issue with that is Zoe leases the batteries, so you would have to buy out your lease I guess? Cause I’m sure your leaser wouldn’t be too thrilled to know their asset is now in another country.
I think with the Zoe you lease the battery, so as a consumer you don’t care but obviously its a waste of batteries.
1) Tesla still plans to do automation. They simply set it aside temporarily to improve the underlining process. For example, one of the issues they had with automation is with wiring. The Model S/X had 3km worth of wires, the Model 3 lowered it to 1.5km, now that they learned where the bottlenecks were, the Model Y…
Again, the factory is their main factory so more than just building cars goes on there, they build components there and they do R&D there and etc.
