Uhm, 50-100 miles is almost half, so any electric car with over 200 miles can do both ways. Top electric car out now is 373 miles. So 186.5 miles one way even if there is no charging. (and by time this car is out, 2nd half of 2020, I’m sure there will be EVs with over 400 miles range.)

The thing is, an EV with battery made in US, the break even on manufacturing is only 1 year, even with a large battery. With that sort of break even, its not an issue. Carrying a large battery is also less of a problem because an EV made from scratch weights a lot less.

Most trips above 50 miles are well within the range of plenty of electric cars.
