1) EV consumption is not doubled in cold weather, that is a misunderstanding of data. Particularly, use of small trips and no use of preheating.

No it doesn’t. The lithium ion battery isn’t as environmentally damaging as the media would love you to believe. Well actually it more depends on WHERE the battery is made. A lot of the media loves to use China as a basis (despite most EV batteries sold in the US are not made in China), that is probably due to…
To answer your question, a new ICE car breaks even vs a used one in 1-2 years. An EV with battery made in US breaks even vs a new ICE car in 1 year.
Cars by nature are an emotional purchase, if you say, “lets stop marketing EVs as fast”, then that might as well as be saying “lets pollute more by continue buying more ICE cars”
Porsche is busy making laptops.
Gear 4: Honda is in for a lot of pain if they don’t keep up with the times.
And people wonder why Elon basically told his workforce he’d give them a bunch of benefits to keep them from unionizing
I would love for someone to answer this for me. It might be due to me flying more often, but every time we fly my family starts hurrying me off the airplane.
Water crossing is pretty much one of the standard tests for EVs in Japan.
I’m pretty sure that car is now worth way more than 60k, you can probably sell it for 60 million at the very least.
Koss makes the best quality budget headphones.
Every review I’ve seen admitted Autopilot was better than supercruise(and this is the old autopilot before all the updates where it got even better)
Aren’t we talking about Autopilot? Autopilot is usable only on highways. If there is a basketball going down the highway...
Do they? I’ve seen plenty of cases where someone throws a paper cup out a window and someone reacts by dodging and ending up in a crash. Sure, you know if you have time to think about it, but human reaction by nature is to avoid.
I would argue in terms of demanding accountability on the part of the driver (hands-on and camera) and having visual cues in line-of-sight (e.g. on the steering wheel), SuperCruise is (arguably) superior or at worst, comparable.
That isn’t true, some things can’t be prevented by humans like a car coming out of a blindspot. Not to mention a human can overeat in panic and cause more harm. Maybe if you are a prodriver then maybe, but even then, these systems can help assist in minimizing the impact. For example, the car in front suddenly stops,…
It isn’t a study, it is simply statistical data.
SuperCruise is far inferior to autopilot. The only thing it has going for it is that you don’t need to keep your hands on the wheel, but Tesla had that too until accidents started coming in and they started requiring it as well for legal reasons.
