You’re considering buying a $40k car to save money on repairs? Those must be some DAMNED expensive german parts. I drive an e39 m5 and the parts will never be too expensive to convince me I need a new car payment.

Moms think small cars (and the mustang is a “small car”) doom their little crotch spawn to death and demand a large SUV. A large sedan is responsible, but she’ll most likely cheat on you secretly because of the shame of not having a SUV. Its true that getting kids into those seats would be marginally more difficult

I am totally on team “Keep the Mustang.”

The problem is modern child safety seat laws. Most states have laws that children under 2 need to be in a rear facing seat. You can MAYBE fit one rear facing seat in something like a Mustang, but definitely not two. So if you only have one kid, or you have some space between them, you can keep the fun car, but if you

You can use a lap belt in place of LATCH. I do it all the time!

You forget that we all died as children because the conditions in which we were raised were so incredibly unsafe! Of course we also had fun back then...

What’s with all these people getting rid of their Mustangs for kids?

“Nope, they’ll build plenty of EVs in China and the EU, where people actually believe in science and are concerned about climate change.”

Actually from a pure economics standpoint, he’s spot on.

It hasn’t driven innovation, there’s no magic bullet to battery tech today that didn’t exist before this particular incentive, and incentivizing the customer as opposed to the manufacturer doesn’t drive innovation at all.

Thus proving there was no EV market to begin with. If the market can’t withstand the retail price of the product without the tax payers incentivizing the sale by offering the tax credit which technically only affects those who actually owe more than the $7500 in taxes to begin with and therefore should not require

Honestly good. I’m all for making EVs but why would I as a taxpayer be supplementing $8000 off Johnnys new tesla model 3? If Johnny wants a Model 3 he can full price for it!

Slow compared to what? A 2013 WRX does 0-60 just under 5 seconds. That’s a 4 year old car. They are faster than 95% of what’s on the road. Do they now need to up the ante? Yes, after it took the competition about 10 years to catch up to them. Are they cheap? Yes, but that’s the point. They are for people who want the

There are several commercials like that, and in every damn one of them, every cracks up once the car brakes for the dumbass driver. No one craps themselves, screams, or says, “Holy shit, I should pay more attention!” It’s maddening.

I have recently seen multiple brands’ commercials with the theme that distracted driving is now okay, your car will save you! It’s misleading, and potentially dangerous.

Dang, did a WRX steal your girlfriend?

1st Gear: America’s SUV Obsession Means Luxury Automakers Struggle To Sell Lease-Returns

Sure. I just want Ford to pay for it.

Indeed. Except if you buy the one that has “Good Headgasket” on the options list... then its full price.
