If you don't want to shell out $5, you can make it yourself by purchasing the male end separately at a hardware store and put it on a surge protector, or directly onto the appliance wire, or attach it to a female plug.

@Gators15: There are indeed a ton of repeated paid apps, but people consider more deeply before buying a $5 app versus downloading a free app. So automatically, a person is more prone to downloading an app he/she already has, just because it is free.

@styfle: So you need to be in a place with both WiFi and cell tower reception to get this to work? (and then, I assume that if either fails for even a second, the whole thing crashes?)
