Sorry, my bad. :-) Probably to hammer home the inappropriate attraction, in which case, yeah, she was probably turned on. Yuck.

Um, believe it or not, there’s moisture up there even if we’re not turned on.

When my daughter was an infant, I took her for a walk in her stroller. She has a yellow (maybe green, it was 9 years ago, I forget) blanket covering her. A woman stopped and told me how handsome my son was. When I said “it’s a girl, but thanks!” her response was “but she’s not wearing pink!” This lady was genuinely

This is exactly what I do! I have huge jar that I cash in every November/early December, and take it to Coinstar for an Amazon gift certificate. I use cash a lot, so I end up with around $400 each year.

I’m bummed, they closed the campaign because they have more than enough for travel expenses. But there’s a donation link in the last update that benefits the whole team so that's great.

I totally want to embrace bugs as food. There’s a company called Exo that makes protein bars from cricket flour. You definitely can’t taste any crickets in the bars, but I ate one, and minutes later, my face turned bright red and I broke out in hives all over my face and head. I’m allergic to crickets. :-(

Thanks—I desperately needed a black handbag so I just bought the Grey Street Dominique. I’ve never purchased Kate Spade before, but the bags are similar to Coach which I have quite a few of.

I saw Louis CK Friday night and on the back of every other seat or so was a sign explicitly forbidding texting, photography, phone calls, whatever can be done with a phone. As far as I could tell, everyone complied. It was beautiful to just sit and watch a show and not be distracted by bad manners.

Are you in NYC by any chance? Because I know of a (legit!) Asian massage place that offers this for pretty cheap—$100 for an hour, I think.

They aren’t, at all. She does use a curriculum and I’m sure there are other resources out there she is using. As I said above, they’re super well adjusted kids, the oldest is succeeding in college etc. etc. It just really works well for them. I wouldn’t do it myself, and I’m sure there’s loads of shitty home schoolers

A friend of mine has eight kids (yes! eight!) and has home schooled every single one of them. When they hit early elementary school (2nd grade, I think), the kid gets to choose if they want to continue homeschooling or move to public school. I can’t remember how many of the six that are past 2nd grade chose public

I agree but I like Pokemon Go so I’m going to keep my thoughts on this on the DL ;-)

Also a good tip, increase the percentage by a couple of points or more when you get a raise at work. You won’t miss what you never had and it’s a painless way to increase your contribution.

I’m not from there but know enough that “...understandably horrifying possibility to people who barely tolerate the visitors keeping them economically afloat” is not the issue, it’s the TYPES of visitors that have changed and infuriate the locals. Montauk survived just fine without them. That sentence gave me a

I’m so excited. Much of this has been filmed in my neighborhood! Cool vintage cars all over the block where they film and super cool costuming. :-)

I can’t find any such rule, can you point me to it?

I’m really sorry. :-( I hope you find something soon.

To me, this really meant if you are going out to eat every month and ignoring a credit card bill that you could be paying off by cutting back a bit, that’s absolutely what you should do. Because that type of scenario is sometimes how people get themselves in over their head in the first place. Fun times now, but

So you just put the coffee in the nut bag and let it steep in the fridge for a couple of days?

I too found my solace online. My husband and I had just moved to a new neighborhood, so I didn’t know anyone who was close. I joined an expecting board on iVillage (now defunct). So we all had kids in the same month, barring the preemies and a couple of stubborn ones. There were stupid fights and such, but we
