This is the darkest take... but the CORRECT one.

Ya, that’s what he said, except it evolved into something about his personal safety being threatened. A white dude worrying about his personal safety at a networking event at a place with a cigar lounge... worried about his personal safety at a family wedding... sigh.

As a short white-passing woman who regularly speaks up as an ally in public to people much taller than me... it’s effective, it’s the right thing to do with whatever privilege you have, it feels good to do it, you should do it too.

Dude... the point is I can’t change their minds, but you can. You are imagining some kind of harm might befall you from being an ally to people who are not white and male, and I am telling you: it won’t, and you will most likely have an impact BECAUSE you are white and male and over 50.

If the wife of the man at the networking event seemed uncomfortable because of the way her husband was behaving, it’s because she was. You could have been her ally and said something along the lines of “hey now, that language is a little blue for this place” and maybe politely declined his offer to go to the cigar

I AM INSPIRED BY JOE WALSH - he just admitted past mistakes and apologized.

There is an actual formula for this:

I, personally, am loving the way the show has turned.

The man had a Kill list for men and a Rape list for women. He started his rampage by killing his BROTHER, who used to be his SISTER. People have reported he was quite fond of his sister, but I’m guessing his BROTHER made him feel a certain kind of way, and he planned on doing something about it.

In this day and age, it takes some serious shit to really drop my jaw while I am reading it. From Obama’s letter down, my mouth was wide open in an almost comical expression of horror.

You are my favourite.

Hey Libby: You’re my favourite writer on the whole damn site.

Hm... Reporting the correct results of your own work to the public? That other countries with free healthcare are doing it not only because it is humane and they are idiots, but because it is humane AND saves the government, taxpayer AND sick people money*? To report this to the public because it’s true, despite who

It’s curious, I agree.

It’s almost as if Vegas has a predetermined outcome desired from any discussion on this subject, and a set of talking points that match it.

For someone asking so many gosh-golly-gee-I-am-just-sort-of-wondering-how-complicated-this-is questions, it’s truly amazing how quickly Vegas found all

I have read this whole thread, and I am still wondering.

I wonder if it is that straight-forward... I would anticipate that any Medicare for All plan is.... I am not sure what union members pay.... It may very well be that all of these factors... has anybody actually studied it... I am not saying with any certainty...”

I love how he literally did not manage to name the bill he blocked or say why, except that it was “partisan.”

So... if a bill to beef up election security across the board is proposed by one party and called “partisan” the other party, is that not a tacit admission by the latter party that they are taking advantage of

Doesn’t it, though?

you’re a fucking asshole

Brilliant take. All choices in art are arbitrary, therefore none of them are because the artist is making them. Tarentino sees himself as very clever, sooooooo cleaver, and this could be his cleaver plausible-deniability way of telling everyone who has ever criticized his shitty choices to fuck off... I mean,
