I would like to think that the man was just trying to navigate a dangerous situation, risking his own freedom to help a young girl, but... truly this story crystalizes a terrible truth: when you are already vulnerable, when you are already victimized, talking about it is the very thing that sets you up for the next

My ex would do every household chore in a purposefully inept and incomplete way and look at me and say “i helping!!1!!!!” in a baby voice, literally as if he expected a praise and a cookie for... folding his own laundry or unloading the dishwasher.

As a former actor for hire from the same timeframe, I have to say I think she was being quite literal with this comment.

OH SHIT THE LIBRARY IS OPEN and THE LETTER OF THE DAY is “R.”

R is for Reading, which is FUNDAMENTAL, ZeroShadow.

Just so you know this was on the Splinter main page just now. It seems sorely out of date and lacks a link. Why is this being pushed on Splinter today?

Is there supposed to be a link in this post?

Sigh... It’s almost funny, except it isn’t. At this point I feel that this kind of “shut up with your saying true things that make me uncomfortable or it will be your fault when we lose” response is worse then a Trump supporter in a MAGA hat. This enemy is camouflaged by their own self-rightious (and self-defeating)

Just dropping in to highlight this - the most valid point - and to say to anyone who represents themselves as Progressive or Liberal or Democratic in any way... if you are ok with this shit perpetuating, and think that calling out institutional racism and systemic inequality is a problem that might divide your party

This is giving me some kind of rage stroke.

Say it louder for the people at the back.

And with a guy like Trump, driven by ego, laughter is a searing attack.

Respect, Nick. Expressing any version of “there is a greater context to voter apathy that is being ignored by those in the position to do something about it” is inviting a whole slew of abuse.

Tension related to how the concerns were handled... How can they say this and provide no concrete examples? If they voted, it should have been on specific “concerns” attached to specific incidents at specific games and with specific players. If it’s truly about safety, cite safety concerns, otherwise you look like

“There is nothing left in this country that unifies us as a whole.”

Of... nationalizm and white terrorism, that you are either actively encouraging or clearly not discouraging? Go on...

Telling people who have no choices that will represent them that their “indifference is the greatest threat to our democracy” is victim-blaming, in my opinion.

Fren... “just trying to rile up the crowd” is NOT good enough anymore.

I think what we need are candidates who will give people hope AND FOLLOW IT WITH CHANGE. I mean... Hope and Change was how Obama styled himself, and it sure worked to get him elected.

Yes, and... If you give people Hope FOR Change, but fail to convert that hope into lasting change... then you got people inspired, got people to feel less indifferent, got their asses out to the voting booth... and then failed them. They will either slide back into indifference or have trouble trusting you and/or your
