Love the idea of demilitarizing the police, but not sure how one does that in a country that has allowed the entire population to militarize to an insane degree.

Gah!!!! That’s SO frustrating!
“the responses I received to what I posted have also made me focus specifically on how my own behavior towards fellow cast members was perceived by them.”
I really get frustrated when I hear that a friend of mine hasn’t voted. My feelings are: You don’t have the right to vote, but the responsibility to vote. Protesting by not voting is anathema to me. While our single, solitary vote doesn’t make much of a difference, as a group it has quite a bit of power. That is what…
Bizarre to me why they’re shitting on her advocating for voting. Also, did they completely disregard her first tweet?
I think the key is the “every local election” part, where she refers to school board trustees, sheriffs, councilors, etc.. I think many people who vote religiously for higher-level offices still ignore the local stuff, which can have just as much (if not more, sometimes) effect on people’s daily lives and well-being…
You have no idea ha. But thank you for your sympathy and hope youre staying safe :)
When you’ve got a system where a person can win a presidency after getting three million votes less than their opponent, it has an effect. Not to mention hanging chads, missing ballots etc etc and there is a genuine feeling of “my vote doesn’t matter anyway” amongst a lot of people.
Isnt he Canadian though? Can he even vote?
Not that I know a great deal about them, but I seem to remember them both promoting voting? And he’s Canadian (from my home town) and for sure has been vocal about voting here. Maybe he couldn’t vote in the US?
I think this is a “liminal” period; we have left the old systems behind, but the new systems are not yet organised. Chaos creates challenge, and opportunity for change, positive or negative.
You were lost and confused, twisted and used up?
Knew a better life existed, but thought that I missed it?
Also: Mads Mikkelsen
I saw it in the theater and actually enjoyed it. Of course parts were extremely difficult to watch, but I thought the movie did a great job of completely immersing you in that world and taking you along for its wild ride. And these days, the notion of doing eeeeeeverything in an isolated but extremely tight-knit and …
bless you for the double laugh from your comment & username hehe
You are doing fine. The entire globe is in the shitter and you’ve got the stress of the hospital on top of that! Your jerkbrain can fuck off because taking care of yourself is important and a good thing.
I’ve been to visit my bff when she’s been in hospital. It would suck being in hospital for anything right now, but to be there for mental illness while conditions are extra stressful really extra sucks. I think all you can do feel what you feel. Your fellow Jezzies are here for anything you want to express, especially…
Long hospital stays are always rough (had a few long stints due to my bad gut ) but I can’t imagine having to deal with all the coldness of a hospital with all this craziness going on.
Can attest from experience that hospitalization is no fun (did two stints, neither as long as yours though). To be coping with that and the extra stress of the pandemic lockdown is a helluva lot. Take as good care of yourself as you can and wishing you better days ahead.
Better ratings than 9/11. I can tell you that!
