When I got married, my husband’s grandmother gave me a frilly apron because apparently I was going to need it. Still haven’t used it and use meal delivery service instead. Am bad wife obviously.

Yep, he’ll end up building massive house next door to his brother’s massive house in Byron Bay.

That food looks disgusting though.

That’s not good enough. Obviously.

Yes! I was just thinking this and wondering if the post-natal midwife visits are a thing in the US? I had a midwife come and check my sutures and do baby wellness checks (that’s how the jaundice was picked up!) and then a mental health midwife that visited when I got PPD/anxiety.

My kid goes to a pretty relaxed school, and I’ve seen a few kids with cool haircuts and a few with bright colours. Mine would love to have green or purple hair, but she has brown hair so would need to lighten it beforehand. I think I’d let her put some green or purple in if she had light hair though.

Agreed. Medicines here aren’t covered by our universal healthcare or by private insurers. Most medicines are on our Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, where the government subsidises then so that we pay between $5.50-$40.30 depending on what it is.

We have universal healthcare of a very high standard in our public system, equal or better to the care you’d get in private hospitals, but some people still take out private health insurance. The numbers of people with PHI drop every year, and they’re by far the minority of the population, but still some people think

This is something I’ve wondered about (as someone who has universal healthcare). From the outside, it seems like you can’t really consider all jobs you’d like to go for if they don’t have good benefits. To me they’re not things that should be tied to each other.

There is so much wrong here... Why do people with little to no medical/health education feel they’re the best people tell us what we should be doing with our bodies? It just happens all.the.bloody.time. I’m so sick of it. And it’s not just fluff that is stupid but doesn’t really impact people. It’s stupid ideas like

Same in Australia, including surrogacy. Usually get some biscuits after donating blood.

This sounds a bit like an idea I have discussed with my husband, but in my version the women are alive and living their best lives man-free while the men are sent to a remote island to fend for themselves and truly decide if it actually is ‘not all men’ or not. I have asked him to raise the idea with his kind, no word

I’m really enjoying Jane Harper’s books (crime/thriller). First I read The Dry, her debut, and then Force of Nature and currently in the middle of The Lost Man. Her writing is so evocative, it feels like you’re right there. Definitely recommend, particularly if you’re looking for something set in completely different

or ‘picks’.

Safety first!

Is that a normal thing? What kind of meals do they serve? Where I live no schools provide meals or snacks (except most childcare centres). I’ve had to pack lunch and snacks for my kid through kindergarten and school. She doesn’t even have a cafeteria at school.

Not as cool though.

Is there a reason why it’s not? I’m not too familiar with US healthcare regulations, but IVF in Australia is super highly regulated. You even have to get criminal background checks, DHS and Working with Children checks etc. Every point of contact, 3 ID checks are done. Before embryo transfer, you need to have at least

I’ve never seen Cats. I remember kids at my school wearing Cats t-shirts after seeing it with their parents in the early 90s and being slightly jealous. Since then it hasn’t interested me and this movie looks...odd. I also see Rebel Wilson playing Rebel Wilson yet again but with fur.

Not just gynaecologists!
