And in this universe, when Captain Kirk asks for more power Welshie would be all like, "sure, no problem, we got trilithium crystals, yo."

Good point, but does he really need to be gay? What purpose is it serving to make Kelvin Zulu gay? It comes off as pure political correctness. I mean, make him gay, that's absolutely fine, but do it to enrich the character for some reason, not just to have a gay character.

I thought his biggest objection was because he didn't think Gene Rodenberry would approve. That it was in some way tampering with the character that Gene created and therefore taboo to mess with in such a fundamental way?

Andy Kauffman's version of Mighty Mouse could.

I'm willing to bet it's a delightful remake, and you couldn't ask for funnier lady leads (well, maybe Madeline Kahn; she's delicious), but it's baffling. I'm surprised all four of them didn't just get together and come up with an original idea for themselves.

Who says it's "the Prime Universe" anyway, Mr. Pegg? I'll bet there's a universe out there where Scotty is Irish.

I really want to see that incarnation now.

r/movies is a shit sub. Heaven forbid you talk about anything but the latest super hero movie or dare to denigrate a Chris Nolan flick. AV Club is a much better place for discussing films.

"It's Electro."

I thought they did an excellent job, given it's TV. Given multiple seasons, this could have delved deeper into the actual text (the reviewers "deep philosophy"), but this was definitely a lush production. Couldn't ask for a finer cast, and the production values were exquisite. A+.

Good point. They will likely address it next season. Still, not the best season of this show. I'd give the season somewhere between B- and C+. The least bingeable so far. I got bored after the third episode and continued my second binge of Southland.

I have not enjoyed this season, though I so looked forward to it. I'm not done with the show or anything, but it was underwhelming. I've watched all the way through already (no spoilers; don't worry), but felt this is the place for my one comment.

I saw the holding hands ring and said, "nope." These people drive Subarus and really believe they're "made outta love."

I thought this battle scene rivaled most of the battle scenes I've ever seen. The confusion and the violence were pretty raw. And when he was suffocating under the weight of the dead? I caught myself holding my breath. This was an A episode in my book.

Maybe Dany. Riding and controlling dragons, not to mention surviving flames completely intact, could go to her head. Maybe she'll hook up withe the Prince of Night? You know, fire and ice and all that?

"Thrones stages an epic battle, but to what end?"

Yeah, no way she's dying until her narrative is resolved, so there's a lack of suspense to this action. Still nice to see it unfold. Anyone who's read the books, even though the show has ventured into terra incognita, knows we're not done with Arya. I still can't wait to see how her story ends.

That makes sense. Wusses.

She listened to that song 10,000 times? I couldn't even make it through once. Boring as fuck.

I always thought he sang like that because that damn codpiece was pinching his junk.
