Gotta disagree there. He seemed like a real asshole in how he made Tarrlok practice a heinous bending art against his will over and over again. Also, the fact that he attempted to raise children into his own personal finely honed weapons of revenge does not win him points in my eyes.

@avclub-7cbaf9384cf3835106bf2f444c0bcf65:disqus Oh, I'm not debating your larger point, this is just a detail on which I'm curious since I've pondered the same thing myself, as the question of whether Aang is responsible for the hundreds of deaths caused by Koizilla is a very interesting one.

I was thinking crime in Republic City, but given that we got a healthy heaping of gangsters this season, Bryke have brought up the conflict between technology and spirituality several times, and the creators have implied some travels abroad, my money is on a Spirit World threat (fitting, as Korra still has much

I think the problem with adapting a HBO/AMC style of storytelling here is that 10-episode HBO seasons are still 10 hours of TV. A 12-episode Korra season is 4 hours of TV.

I'll gladly take one or two flat-out bad episodes a season if it means we get one or two more flat-out amazing ones with them.

Change "filler" to "downtime episodes that don't advance the plot", then. The point stands.

Asami got hosed, but considering how much of a badass she became in the process, I call it even.

The government of every nation in the Avatar world is indefensible, because they're all monarchies. This doesn't seem to bother the average Fire Nation or Earth Nation citizen much, though.
