@avclub-4ddfe7c5b3a095b57262f8c503c70acb:disqus But Amon has made non-benders an incredible threat, both by distributing shock gloves en masse and building freaking mechs. They even have sufficient air power to take down groups of police zeppelins.

@dygitalninja
Bullying Tarrlok probably makes a good deal more sense than launching a frontal assault on the jail, as the Metalbender police would no doubt have Korra's friends under high security, and the metalbenders are a truly formidable foe.

Most likely, but given that Republic City is quickly becoming a fascist police state, I doubt she's concerned about that overmuch.

Having rewatched the episode, I am now 100% on board with the idea mentioned by the tumblr post linked earlier that somebody (possibly Katara) is bloodbending Yakone in the flashback scene when his eyes widen. The distinctive fleshy rippling sound of bloodbending is present as his eyes shoot open.

Not dumb at all! VAs often change their voices significantly, and barring the occasional twinge of Britishness this is 100% Azula.

Isn't that why she was at Tarrlok's, to force him to let her friends go?

@avclub-80950a2dd1a5ff049bb918b1b6dd1b03:disqus I really hope that's true, as I would love for Katara to be revealed in that fashion, since she's been sorely missing from the visions so far.

I want Tenzin to lose his shit. Yes, Tenzin crying will be awful, but a fully grown, badass adult Airbender in pissed-off righteous fury mode? Excuse me while I grab some popcorn. I need more of the arc-wheel air motorcycle!

Hell, the normal doors in the interrogation room seem to work like that. That's why Korra made the face at Beifong in the first episode; Beifong did the hand gesture to open the doors, and Korra interpreted it as a rude gesture and returned it in kind.
