I was coming here to say that using an mRNA vaccine that skips animal trials and goes directly to humans seems like the perfect intro plot to a zombie movie.

There is no ethics in stock buybacks. Both my parents and my in-laws were both executives at different publicly traded companies. They saw the leadership do this repeatedly to increase the stock value due to their bonuses being tied to increases in stock value. This is all about short term gain for few.

Someday somebody will have to explain to me why using corporate cash to buy stock at the peak of its value is “doing right by the shareholders.” It’s not a wise long-term move, even if it’s that particular company’s own stock.
