I apologize for the mistake. I was looking up the population of several countries mentioned in the comments and confused the numbers for Sweden and Norway. That is cool and I am sure it is easier to do in a country with a small population that covers a small geographical area.  The problem here in the US is once you have hauled the plastic bottles several times over hundreds of miles, the value of recycling goes way down.

None of those companies actually recycles anything. It is sold and moved over and over again before it ever gets recycled,if that ever happens at all. 

I certainly hope some day that maybe there will be a way to make a biodegradable plastic or plastic like substance. Recycling as it stands now is a joke and waste more and pollutes more than making new product.  You seem to only be considering the “melt down and recycle” portion of the product into consideration.
