Last I check, it has plenty of C02. Also it doesn’t have enough gravity to hold onto a thick atmosphere, nor does it have a magnetic field to protect it. It’s a sad little deceased world, you’d gain as much settling on the Moon as Mars.
As a former Earth scientist, watching a series of complex ocean-atmosphere-biosphere feedback loops rev up in real-time is fascinating. As a human whose prospects of escaping to Mars are slim to nil, it’s terrifying.
