So THAT’S how Troy fell!

Yeah, EA did good. It’s mostly the, “we’re doing donations, and will say no more on this” that bug me.
That’s not actually true: the IRS has to approve most charities or non-profits, and they don’t always qualify, depending on how political/personal the IRS feels they are. You can still donate to them, but they aren’t tax-deductible.
Gee, tax deductible contributions. How incredibly generous. Really taking a stand there, aren’t you guys?
According to the Tweet, he was lollygagging, the scum.
I’m baffled where he got that from: Syria and Iran I could understand, since those are regions where major powers existed when the Bible was written, but Russia and China? Russia didn’t even exist, in any form, at that time; anyone with a concept of it before the Dark Ages would *have* to be an actual prophet, and I…
I can’t help but think he’s closer to Tracer Tong: a smart, well meaning guy who still does terrible things to make money, and would end up screwing up the world while trying to make it a better place.
Communist doesn’t usually mean “no money,” but rather that you need things like vouchers to make things affordable, and buying things without vouchers is crazy expensive and only allowed at certain stores. So basically, they should provide Communist Robot cheaper for people who can’t afford their silly fake currency.
It’s not just the original: Before Crisis and Crises Core also have some obvious references, which is frustrating, because Genesis was the worst, but Zach, Angeal, and the Turks were pretty great.
It’s pretty clear they have no idea how to end the current plotline in a satisfying way, so they just didn’t bother. After all, how does the game end? The Combine soldiers will all still be around regardless, killing one or two boss aliens didn’t solve things in HL1, so that’s out, so what do they do? “We won a battle…
The credit agencies recently listed the company as “very near to default,” so it clearly hasn’t been doing well recently, whatever the case half was half a decade ago.
Actual crimes can’t be sent to forced arbitration, because arbitration is only for civil disputes.
It’s not that easy: the venues don’t usually swim in money either, and even those that do have to face the possibility that this might last for months, which few companies can survive. It’s not like taxes, utility, insurance and payroll go away just because the customers do.
The Soviet Union was absolutely left wing, and was clearly held as such by its contemporaries at least until the 1950s, and usually beyond; it being Authoritarian doesn’t matter, because Authoritarianism is usually contrasted with (classical) Libertarianism, not left or right.
Yeah, I’d recommend either that or The Old Republic: Final Fantasy pushes you to interact with people quite a lot and rewards others for doing so, while Old Republic let’s you deal with others entirely at your own pace, since you’re rarely forced to form a party. Opposite philosophies, but they both work.
I thought Yozora was just a generic JRPG protagonist joke in Toy Story; turns out the joke is actually on the player. Should have just outright made him Noctis.
The game felt weirdly unfinished: the toys and Magnolia seemed to touch on the history of the world, but nothing ever comes of it, and there’s not really an actual ending either.
It’s funny you mention that, because that’s almost exactly what the arc after the anime is about: one particular character very much *hates* how the world praises heroes who win because the plot basically says so, despite how hard working the villains are, and the arc is largely about him.
