All my 80s Toyotas could be started without depressing the clutch. When I get into a modern car, I have to retrain myself to have the clutch all the way in or else it won’t start.

Sometimes I park in gear if it’s steep enough — and then I forget I parked in gear, start it later, and then embarrassing lurch when trying to start. Damn you, me.

I let my car roll 15 feet down my driveway last week because I forgot the ebrake. No one was killed, but I am thinking about suing toyota for letting me scare the bejesus out of myself.
