It’s marketing and it works on women too, sadly. They view an crossover as more versatile and safer and many don’t want the stigma of owning a van themselves, feeling it labels them as “just” a mom. I loved my parents CHRYSLER (grand?) Caravan. The best of all the K cars.

They’re probably going for that corporate grille hoo-hah that’s associated with luxury brands now, like Lexus, Caddy, Audi, and Merc... Just maybe not the best face to replicate... Many people may not like the Lexus predator face, but at least you’re getting a Lexus.
