They slow down a bit as they go along, at least as far as I've got. It's still a bit faster than I think is ideal, and I do think they're anticipating the jokes too often, but I'm enjoying everything I've seen.

That thermostat thing was pretty much my moment of "okay, they got it." :D

If they get a twelfth season, I really wish/hope they can convince Mike to come be Torgo. He always played that weirdo perfectly.

The Rum Diaries. It was literally the only thing vaguely interesting playing at the time, so my girlfriend and I checked it out thinking it would be vaguely Fear and Loathing-like. Instead it was a mediocre, plotless Johnny Depp vehicle with what I maintain is one of the most unforgivable endings I've ever seen in a

I guess they need PSAs too.

I saw Once Upon a Honeymoon the first time the other day; that is a goddamn trip. I really want to know who or what the target audience could possibly have been.

I bought one too! The commentary track from "The Master" and "Debbie" is worth the price of admission.

Like Donna, that lightning bolt in the background of Mike's scene got an out loud exclamation from me, too. Just perfect.

Yeah, that put me off it too. Like, for a website that focused so much of its energy on clutching its pearls over the depravity of the Internet, it certainly didn't take much for them to participate in the worst way possible.

Anyone read The Yiddish Policeman's Union? It's basically this joke writ large. It's also really good.

I actually loved this. Actual good job, Internet.

Love the Elevator to the Gallows soundtrack. Quintessential film noir. I've used it as mood music for roleplaying games a few times (not the dungeon crawling variety, obviously), and it never fails to set a nice, sleazy mood.

Someone's believing victims of sexual assault! Political correctness! Hide or 20-something university students will literally take away your free speech rights somehow no I don't know how but they will they will they will come on get in the bunker!

Not gonna lie, that "Ballad of a Thin Man" joke was choice, because I am both a music nerd and oppose The Man.

I suppose what I'm saying — and admittedly this is amazingly complicated so I'm probably saying it badly — is that the people speaking on behalf of others are often / usually the people who would know; like, if you're a black person who says "you shouldn't say that about that other black person", I'm inclined to take

I dunno. I mean, yes, there's a time and a place to choose a hill to die on, and sometimes the level of discourse about who and what is problematic can get pretty arcane among the left wing. It can seem like even the hardcore don't agree with each other. I also firmly believe Sturgeon's law applies to people, even the

License to Kill is as solid a Bond film as you can get. It's got just the right mix of cool, ridiculous, and heart.

A friend of mine got into a protracted but friendly debate with a hard core libertarian the other day. And by hard core I mean this person moved to Chile to found a libertarian commune(!) that their group unironically named Galt's Gulch (or Galt's something, but definitely the Galt part).

Long ago and far away, when I was an idiot teenager, I would read right-wing blogs to make myself angry. This was stupid and unproductive, but I'll never forget this one guy talking about the natural born requirement. Jennifer Granholm came up, who was governor of Michigan at the time, and who was born in Vancouver.
