This is so painfully true.

I thought the same thing in that they basically went 'ok, now we've got that out of the way, let's move on to the actual plot', but that actually went a huge distance to getting me on board with the rest of the show, because it was showing their cards and moving along. It was kind of a nice change.

I mean, he hasn't even explained the true meaning of jazz to anyone yet.

Ha!

I almost wish they'd lean into it even harder. You can't avoid it, so why not just embrace the inevitable?

I get you - I felt similarly in this episode. I think the issue is he already is the Iron Fist, and fulfilling that job is an inevitability, but in terms of his arc, he doesn't have any work left to do to become that - he just has to do the job. Which means his character arc at the moment is - ok I'm a magical weapon,

The visuals do nothing for me, but I do like the Tron theme. I wish it ended at the build, though.

Seconded. They improve a great deal.

I was very unsure on him in the pilot but I feel very differently now. By far the strongest in the ensemble at the point I'm at. Interested to see where he goes.

I think that's probably true - I've liked him most when he's with Colleen, I'm optimistic for how he'll do with the others. I felt the same about Mike Colter, who I don't think is particularly strong.

Alrighty, so the first few episodes are slow, but nowhere near as bad as the critical drubbing suggests (terrible car flip aside).

Mer de Noms, A Perfect Circle.

… Well now I do.

This looks so beautiful and this cast is absolutely stacked.

"You got bullied alot."
"Yeah. My name is Jughead."

I really, truly wanted to like this film so much more than I did. Its decent enough, but I can't help but feel they mistook gore for finesse, and bleakness for weight. The action was very cgi heavy, and it kept dragging me out of it.

That exchange was veeery predictable.

It had its moments, but yeah, I think you pretty much nailed what missed the mark for me.

I really wanted to like this a whole lot more than I did, but I agree. It was fine. I'm just not in sync with the glowing reviews.
