Young Americans!

I am already excited about another gold star dramatic Cheryl entrance and Grandma Rose.

And he chooses her pick for the last drive in movie, even though she was just teasing with it. May have started my rewatch already.

I keep getting here too late to contribute anything more than "this show is so great!" to the discussion, but it really, really is.

Believe it or not, I actually already tried that route - we're both big Twin Peaks fans. I think he's maybe forgotten some of the performances on that, though. (I'm looking at you, James and Donna. And Leo. And Bobby.)

I agree, as long as we're dealing with Maple Syrup Blood Fueds, there's going to be some scenes you just can't play sincere. (I love Cheryl too. I love my SO, but I'm not budging on Riverdale. He also gets distracted by Betty's ponytail - "that poor actress must have such a migraine.")

That's more or less how he backed up his opinion, actually - he quickly caveated (lest he be caught actually praising something on Riverdale) that he considered him to be the only one working with any 'real' material, so he can come into a scene fully formed with something tangible and build on it, whereas Cheryl (who

It's funny, my SO, who is an actor himself and really, truly despises this show, caught half of the episode and loudly declared that 'Junkrat' is "the only one that can actually act". I laughed and told him that there are some who think quite the opposite of that.

Aww, c'mon, he's a little dreamy.
(Shut up, teenage me!)

They've been throwing a bunch of non verbal stuff out for a few episodes now, and considering its all been very chaste/tentative so far I don't really agree with the criticism it's been rushed (although I understand where that criticism is coming from). I clocked something from that flirty Betty checking him out,

Because he's the murderer, obviously.

… Enter Sabrina?!

I was not prepared for Coach Clayton.

That scene was really, really nice. Even a 'eh' Veronica side plot has a gem like that in there. I also loved the "We should just move".

Good lord this town.

Considering he just decided to go for a jog in his boxers like putting on some shorts was too hard, this is probably true.

YESS.

I really felt for him there. It makes those jokes from Reggie about it always being kids like Jughead seem so much worse, now.

And then Polly just grabs Betty like a murderer, as if that wouldn't give the poor girl a heart attack! Eeesh.

Oh Madchen. As if I couldn't love her more.
