Yeah, I can see that. on a rewatch I took that more as a bit symbolic of her choosing the mystery / Jughead over the teen drama / Archie, too. That makes me more optimistic.

Considering how terrible/neglectful/incompetent all of the parents are in Riverdale, I just assume the teachers are all the same level of shoddy too.

Oh I know, it just prompted me to realise how much I'm enjoying her motivation essentially being: make friends! Meet people! Veronica has chemistry with everyone.

Veronica makes a very natural intersecting character for the disperate plots because a huge part of her motivation is integrating herself into Riverdale, and redeeming past bitchiness, seemingly.

The kind that wears a fedora indoors unironically.

A new smoke machine factory. Gotta keep that fog topped up, there's some rooms still left without any haze in.

For me it just kind of fulfills a certain niche of fun, slickly campy teen drama that I apparently crave, I guess.

Werewolf Archie must immediately be added to the list of ways to make him potentially interesting, along with Psycho Archie. I love it.

You think this show can't get better, but then, suddenly, Jemaine.

I love how oblivious Archie was trying to briefly intersect with the plot and Betty and Jughead were like 'nah, you're good. Don't you have a music storyline or whatever? '

She really lit up when he appeared at her window, and she was definitely all smiles/ in the moment when she had her flash of inspiration on the car. I think he was pretty charmed by that more than anything.

I was going to say his constantly stealing food/grabbing a bite where he can is definitely a nicely subtle way of hinting at his homelessness. Its a cute spin.

The little catch was what sold it for me.

Yeah, I think she reacted pretty well? She even sort of jumped when she interrupted with her thought about the car.

Where was he writing at the beginning? The school? I assume that's where he's staying?

His pretentious, borderline omniscient teen angst voiceovers work like gangbusters for me. It's exactly as shit as all my old writing sounds.

Josie's parents are so terrible - I really felt for her when her terrible, pretentious father bailed. And Veronica staring down her mother - two good bits of organic storytelling from Riverdale!

I would watch the crap out of that.

Eh, if those pretentious bastards are anything like me, they're hooked by now.

Yeah, between Logan and Legion the Xmen are having a pretty prestigious upswing this year, huh?
