This is so terribly sad. He's had so many scene stealing roles, but I think I'll remember him most fondly as Severin in Near Dark, because he looked like he was having so much fun.

Not to give them an easy out, but I suppose it's the nature of the shows that let them be that way - action and adventure comes first, but romance is generally a totemic motivation in superhero shows. Its a reason to fight. That's why the love interests seem so underwritten, whilst other CW shows mine half their drama…

I had no expectations left this would happen. Just tell us that 'Monster' adaptation is not going to happen either, stop breaking my heart, dude.

Riverdale's commitment to its subtle cartoony costumes actually really helped sell it to me (even Archie's terrible dye job!). At first it seems dumb, but it really does make the show feel like a stylised off-reality.
