ok i’m going to see this this weekend with a group of my jazzercise (yes, shut up) friend (so basically it’s me and a bunch of 60+ year old ladies).

i also hope the same for pete. he’s been through a lot, too. i worry for them both right now.

he is Not Hot.

no. you’re just straight up wrong. and you’re also dismissed.

right, note i said BMI is note the sole indicator of health. it can contribute to poor health, and sometimes does, but not always.

i’ve never done the meetings (i don’t like competing with anyone but myself) and i could definitely see where they could go awry for some! otherwise i do love WW!

no i do agree with you. you fleshed out my thoughts from my earlier comments for me! weight watchers isn’t a fad diet or a complete lifestyle change, and they aren’t pushing you to look like gisele. they also don’t allow you to set your goal weight beyond a reasonable healthy goal for your body, which i appreciate. i

i just posted another comment that i love weight watchers (the old, non wellness weight watchers). i’m a current customer. eat less, pay attention to how much you’re eating, move your body some each day, but keep eating what you like. that’s SO fucking reasonable. it’s a lifestyle change -- but it’s also, not??? i

i happen to really like weight watchers, and i’m one of their current customers. diagnosed with binge eating disorder, and 75lbs overweight, i do need to lose weight for health reasons. but i liked weight watchers because they weren’t tell you to give up all fast food and dairy and sugar and alcohol or do some crazy

being fat doesn’t mean you’re unhealthy.

true! that’s a really good point. but if you really sit and wade through the gunk and get to the bottom of it, each wellness article is about trying to help you lose weight.

yep. when i see “wellness” my brain basically translates it to some type of disordered eating.

i happen to think so. pushing women to lose weight is all still based on unrealistic beauty standards. it’s why women obsess over our looks, our bodies. it’s why we have eating disorders, and why we put our bodies through hell, and we take pills that we know are bad for us. it’s why we hear horrible comments from men

the wellness movement is still just the road to weight loss paved with fewer diet pills. it’s no less focused on weight but it hides it better.

i am so mad that so many people i love chose to be a part of this movie. WHY JEAN SMART, WHY?!?!?!
