Not upset, but wouldn’t say “most” long-running shows do this, cos bar the Emperor I can’t think of changes that weren’t just open reboots of the universe. I’ve just reached that point with Who where I’m a bit done with the constant throwing out of what was previously established. And you’d think of all the SciFi

How the Fúck is King of the Monsters above the sublime satirical genius that was Shin Godzilla? Madness.

You say “misstep”, I say “just the latest in a line of decisions proving nothing in this show’s universe matters”.

Flintoff had been a presenter on the series since 2019, alongside Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris

Kinda curious, but also ignorant of Spider-Man lore beyond a certain point: are there any _good_ symbiotes? Like, Carnage and Venom seem to be the headline ones but by all accounts plain evil - accentuating the host’s worst impulses. But are/have there been any ones who don’t corrupt the host? Seems like the symbiotic

Genuine question: what the F is up with Florida? Why does it so regularly appear in news with these bizarre, outsized or plain awful stories?

I have wondered how many Trek fans want to see a Tarantino Trek Gangster film; cos the idea has always sounded bloody awful to this Trekkie TBH.

An idea that would fail the first time a woman doesn’t get the nod for successive years; the outrage would demand a restoration of split awards. Or some stupid compromise of men and women winning alternating years. This doesn’t feel like a thing people want, and only invites eye rolling and rightwingers carping about

Sure it's papering over the realities of the studio's intransigence, but if a happy side effect is more exposure for Strange New Worlds? That's awesome.

A movie entirely in infrared? Isn't there a faster way to just burn out my retinas? The concept sounds horrendous and that still does nothing to convince otherwise. Gimmickry for its own sake?

It’s an astonishing point to note that The Boy and the Heron already came out in Japan, pulled in ~$40 million ... and didn’t get a single still, trailer or promotion. Intentionally, the choice was to just release it on date X and that was it. I guess for the international release they’re gonna push some marketing

They’d make TONS of money if they’d come back down to earth and realize...no one gives a shit about your hardware. It’s your first party titles people care about

With the goodwill evaporating rapidly, and the Strike no doubt putting productions at risk in general, I wonder how many of those MCU TV shows are suddenly looking over their shoulders.

The Last Voyage of the Demeter is a film I’m holding hope for as a mid budget bit of adventure-horror of the type rarely seen now. And credit to what looks like a commitment to a physical, wet location with all that use of a water cannon.

I keep remembering we’re getting a Fallout TV show and having to tempering my excitement: of all the various mainstream video-game universes out there, this is one that has always had great potential for adaptation; I hope they manage to keep the sly, dark humour of the games. Next thing we’ll get a Bioshock TV show

I think it's fair to say that Buffy's mainstream success propelled the concept of a musical episode into the zeitgeist.

That's true. They have doubled down on the zaniness - but then as everything this far has been so enjoyable, I can't begrudge it either.

Look, I recognise I’m the minority here and it’s a positively heretical to say, but blergh, a musical episode of SNW? Joss Whedon has yet another thing to apologise for. I may just pass on ep 9 then, read the Wiki later in case of actual story development.

Does this site’s writers watch anything anymore? This is another article where the author admits to having watched the thing. It's not entirely germaine to the topic but it undercuts the credibility of the article.

And even when it wasn't Tatoinne, JJ Abrams couldn't resist a clone in Jaaku for the Force Awakens. No better indicator as to how creatively bankrupt this franchise has become that Tatoinne. Always bloody Tatoinne
