It’s because they went from wanting the air to get to the top of the fenders, to diverting it to the sides. You get more drag but more air to work with after the fenders.

Yeah Lewis’ pole lap this year was a 1:29.493, so almost 10 seconds faster. The Audi’s lap was impressive, but saying it’s a new track record is a bit confusing.

I think Audi can’t really keep losing Le Mans. Maybe if they win next year, they’ll think about staying. Piech’s “both brands can compete” only works if both are actually fighting for wins I think, and sadly Audi has been plagued by too many issues this year.

Yeah but I just don’t see Toro Rosse hiring anyone from outside the Red Bull drivers program. After all, bringing Red Bull drivers to F1 is their purpose, and Pierre Gasly is performing well enough in GP2 at the moment.

McLaren has got too many drivers already, and both Williams and Renault are going for established big shots. It has to be Haas. Sauber and Manor need money Rossi probably doesn’t have, Force India is on the rise again and will probably end up with an established driver as well alongside the Hulk if Perez does leave.
