I learned on my uncle’s E39 BMW M5. So much torque that you could get the thing going without any gas, and a well-defined bite point. Didn’t stop me from accidentally spinning the tires several times while i was first learning, though!

Those wheels don't look half bad once you cleaned them up and got rid of that horrid two tone! I learned to drive stick on an E39 M5 (my uncle's) and it is still one of my favorite cars I've ever driven. Glad to see you save this one and can't wait for the E46 M3 story.

I believe it's the speed at which the "speed warning" is triggered. In my A3 at least, it had a default setting where it would beep at you if you exceeded 80. It was easily turned off.
