Simple answer: Yes.

It used to be that way. If a kid got in trouble for something serious enough for jail time, then the parent was the one that served it.

Why own (keep) the gun if you are going to remove the firing pin? If it was an antique, maybe, but then why keep ammo stocked for it if you aren't planning on firing it? This story has a lot of BS wrapped around it, and the father is trying to get his 10 minutes of fame by blaming a video game that has less violence

The color actually was backwards (Blue for Republican and Red for Democratic) a few years back, and only really came into play when the media started using it for the maps during elections. It wasn't until around 2000 that it switched to blue being Democratic and red being Republican.
