They’re mentioning it, but as footnotes. And yes, before a thousand people point out that I just missed this article the first time:

Thanks. I knew someone would know where it was—I didn’t catch it in my cursory search since the article title (and lead paragraph) in no way whatsoever points that direction.

I did, smartass. That article’s title pretty needlessly buries the lede so when I was sifting though the many Jez articles that mention him, I hadn’t gotten to that one yet.

Okay, I just found an EGREGIOUSLY short clip about it that apparently didn’t even warrant its own article? That’s it though. You’d think with it coming up again, someone at Jezebel might want to at least re-mention it. I don’t think Casey affleck should somehow get more of a pass than anyone else in the same position.

Are you sure? Because the second I heard about it, I searched “Casey Affleck” on Jezebel hoping to get their take, and came up empty handed.

I’m surprised Jezebel has seemingly never reported on the sexual harassment allegations/settlement regarding Casey Affleck and his behavior during I’m Not Here. Is it because the claims are unsubstantiated? Because that hasn’t seemed to stop Jez from mentioning stuff like that before, particularly when a court case

I think maybe my phrasing was easily misunderstood. What I meant is, if you moved to Switzerland and spent that long living there, surely by then you knew what was involved in the naturalization process. So your choice is either keep being outspoken and own/accept that that might hinder naturalization, or maybe leave

I was imagining like a 4x100 cow relay that involves literally handing off the bell, myself.

I’m not saying she shouldn’t speak. I’m just saying she presumably knew what was involved in the arcane naturalization process and thus can’t be that surprised that pissing off basically all of her local community hindered her.

I thought this too, thus the question. Just a typo or are we talking a legit race?

It’s the “you can’t sit with us” of naturalization processes.

Oh my god dude, not on my thread, you’ll have to come up with something more compelling and nuanced if you want to troll here.

Yeah, like a holiday where everyone on your block won’t stop setting off fireworks for an entire evening, as well as sporadically for a few weeks before and after, causing you to constantly hear what you think is gunfire?

The only word I can use to describe that situation is merkwürdig. Your friend’s mom wouldn’t understand though.

Yeah, I just don’t think her being “annoying” is a legit reason to deny her naturalization. I’m not saying anyone should be friends with her, the consequence of being obnoxious is you might make everyone hate you. But even obnoxious people deserve a fairly handled naturalization process.

Thank you for your thorough response, I was legit curious!

You’re kind of going off the rails here, friend. I literally said that her rights SHOULDN’T be violated for such a dumb reason, I just wonder why she is so surprised about it if she lives in a town so small that her naturalization is decided jury style. I would think you’d see the bigotry coming from a mile away.

Okay, this is just bizarre. Some questions I have:

So sorry that that happened :( at the very least, once I’d actually been hit, a TON of strangers sprang into action. One woman actually caught my bleeding head before it hit the cement floor post hit and may have saved my life. Another guy grabbed me ice from the bar with his bare hands while still two others

Even if I’m inclined to agree with you, let’s not equate “hanging out in russia” to “trying to kill yourself in an isolation chamber” by suggesting they’ve both somehow suffered equally as a consequence of their actions.
