Cusack has always been an insane nutbar, its just that by the late 90s hed aged out of his window for 'serious leading man' stardom.

Im still trying to figure out why Rhames character is named Diamond Dog. Murderer, black militant, Bowie fan??
Everyone will disagree but the Vegas ending is where that movie shits the bed. It clearly should end with the ridiculous desert abandoned airport shoot out.
Francis Ford Coppola (His uncle!) almost fired him from Peggy Sue Got Married for his insistence on doing an insane voice for his character. And that was like 1986.
It would have been a great action movie if it wasnt also a James Bond movie.
Dont forget the 'Shotgun Ed' shootout.
My strange Grosse Point Blank story is that i finally caught up with it when FX did the world premiere. It was the only time Ive ever seen where they forgot to edit the profanity out of the movie for tv.
Three Kings, Perfect Storm, O Brother Where Art Though were all released in about the same year. Kings and O Brother were HUGE critical hits and Perfect Storm was a monster at the box office and home video. You have to remember too that Clooney was the biggest star on tv right before that. All of that momentum really…
My personal conspiracy theory is that she was a top contender for the role, but at the time there was a big push to get an actual latina actress to play Karen.
Im pretty sure the rumor was perpetuated by Bay himself. I believe the paternity was settled that he wasnt Frankenheimers son but Bay still says he is.
Oddly he got his part in Aliens to replace James Remar because of HIS massive drug problem.
Thats so on the line between Tarantino and what a cracked out Aaron Sorkin would think is tough action dialogue its impossible to tell.
13 Hours has maybe the only legitimately good piece of acting in a Bay movie-the one unbroken shot monologue John Krasinski has.
Crack specifically. Sorkin smoked crack while writing this'
'You wanna shake hands with the devil Hunt? Fine but Ill make sure you do it in hell.'
I quit watching with the unnecessary Jess Nick split up in season 3, but ill def tune in for a series finale. I say end it now. (Unless we get my much dreamed about in universe short stories season about BearClaw, Outside Dave, Fancy Man, etc)
Ive always felt Season 4 was The Shields answer to The Wire-it takes a community wide look at the Police Force and how Captain Rawlings asset forfeiture policy ('Shermans March through the ghetto' as Claudette calls it) fans out to effect all of Farmington.
I remember Eberts tv review when Miracle came out and he made a point to say that Russell was 'a real actor, doing real acting' in the performance. I agree with you-if you look at the films across genres hes had to anchor i cant think of a lot of actors that could match him.
Honestly I havent seen SoAF or Shadow Recruit. They seem way off base in the more grounded spycraft that made the baldwin/ford movies so watchable. Ill probably check out the pilot for the Krasinsky show since i think hes a great pick for the part, but i dont have much hope for it.
Its saying something that she more than holds her own with Famke Janssen whose definitely play more of an archetypal 'bond girl'. Goldeneye has without question one of the best supporting casts of any bond movie, probably the best since the Connery years.
