Just taking this oppurtunity to hype Black Book which is exactly as batshit and brilliant as his Hollywood films. AND Tarantino ripped it off massively for Inglorious Basterds.

Out For Justice is clearly his masterpiece. But a lot of that credit goes to William Forsythe as his perfect antagonist and a completely bare bones script.

I think the reason Arnolds career has held up so well is, in contrast to say Sylvestor Stallone, he was able to keep his ego in check. On Conan he told Milius 'treat me like a dog-if you want me to stay, tell me to stay.'

Also Jessica Biel should have clearly had the Stone part.

You have to rememeber that RoboCop is a straight forward ressurection/revenge story. Thats an incredibly sturdy framework to build off of-giving us everything from Rolling Thunder to The Crow to Darkman.

Yeah that title sums up the whole things weird magic. Its to on the nose, to ridiculous. And its PERFECT.

To be fair though the remake had even better actors! Gary 'Dracula' Oldman?? Michael Keaton?? SAMUEL MF JACKSON????

The problems start with not giving it an R Rating. That didnt work for Robocop 3 and it wouldnt work 20 years later.

'Colin Farrell's equally capable of playing everyman and action hero, but it just didn't work.'

And peak JLC which people forget.

Also The Siege had Tony Shalhoub's character caught in between his job at the FBI and his family. His scene at the internment camp is probably the one that sticks out the most for me.

Talk about a movie that was ahead of its time. Almost like Zwick time traveled back from 2016 to make it.

His Shield episodes are also dispiriting for the same reason. Weathers is the total package.

T2 no question. He easily gave the best robot film performance of all time, which is saying something compared to the other actors who have tried that.

And David Fincher

Amazing sequels.

I was 5 when it came out but my parents didnt let me see it. I had a tv in my room when i was 8 and it debuted on tv. Watching it on a maybe 10 inch screen still blew my mind.

I think its less 'acting out' and more 'didactically explaining everyones job to them'.

I always mention it when it comes up but Joe Morton basically saves the movie.

Dont forget Alien Nation. And Suburban Commando is pretty much a G rated riff on the same idea.
