It IS amazing.

Veorhoeven has also said RoboCop was a 'liberal revenge movie'.

Gotta do Cobra then Commando.

Yeah the fake Ventura fight clearly should have been the end of the movie. The revolutionary plot bogs the movie down, just like The Purge movies.

Its mind boggling to me no one has ever made a truly great 'People Kill each other Game Show' movie. The closest is Series 7:The Contenders.

The all violence/no context opening is sorely missed nowadays. I think Commando might have the best though.

Daniel Radcliffe was on a late night talk show last year saying he was obsessed with doing an action movie with The Rock. My pitch would be a human/alien buddy cop movie ala The Hidden, I Come in Peace, Alien Nation.

'Joe Pesci's manic jokes and the silly humor.'

They ran out of road with Lethal Weapon 2 which is even better and darker than the first.

Its up there but consideration must be made for 1993s The Crow (Jon Polito, Tony Todd, Michael Wincott, Bai Ling, David Patrick Kelly).

Crazy Haunted ass kicking loose canon= Juliette Lewis. Over this shit but still tough Black Cop=Regina King.

youre right! well, thats good to know

Interesting.

'And Weaver is so fucking good in this movie, and in Alien as well.'

MASSIVELY underrated movie. Great grimey aesthetic (which is what shooting in Chicago in the actual winter will get you). Great way to use to non action stars effectively. Crystal's best ever performance, especially the scene where he tries to get his ex back. AND one of my favorite shootout endings.

'Honestly the biggest problem with the AvP movies were setting them in modern times and getting rid of the space trucker/marine aesthetics. '

Matriarch of the evil vampires in Near Dark as well. Also she was a professional bodybuilder and Aliens was her first acting gig.

Fistful of Dollars->For a Few Dollars More
Mad Max->The Road Warrior
The Raid->The Raid 2
StarWars->The Empire Strikes Back

'Can you stop it?'
