Selig is a short-sighted, out of touch, pompous jackass and, when all is said and done, will have hurt baseball more than any of the "accomplishments" he achieved have helped.

Hmmm if he does it with every commercial break, then maybe a good way to convey the seriousness of the subject at hand would be too skip it, no?
I mean even comedy figures in late night take a more somber tone when starting to address the subject, even if they have a punchline to end the segment.
Honest question. Do you find it hard to find candidates to vote for? My dad is a republican, but he has a hard time voting in elections because the sane candidate that he votes for in the primary, is never the one that get's chosen to be on the ballot in Nov. Do you find this to be true?
"You think things are spiralling out of control in Ferguson? Check this out."
It just implies a very casual and indifferent outlook on a very bad and serious situation. Like he's saying, "Oh haha who cares? it's all fun and games, lets just toss around a football", when there are riots and someone was killed.
He is clearly not very smart, and completely self centered. He strikes me as the kid in high school that would hang with the bullies, and take pleasure in seeing others hurt, but would beg and weep when they realized he is a cowardly tool and turned on him.
Show me something he doesn't spin.
Does your comment look embarrassing if you remember that Deadspin writes a "Why Your Team Sucks" for every single team, every year?
I think maybe you're missing the point and scope of the series.
You're adorable.
Good for them for getting something out of it. But that movie is maudlin, cliched, and pandering. It sucks, objectively.
Pissy and humorless, so I'm going to guess Cards fan?
It was an intro lineā¦.to get you to read on. It worked.
I'm half surprised they didn't drill him in the middle of the back for cracking a bit of a smile as he rounded the bases. NO FUN WILL BE HAD IN THE PLAYING OF THE BASEBALL!
Really looking forward to watching him in a Red Sox uniform for the rest of his career.
Fair enough. Any game in which one team sends out four pitchers who can throw 96 mph is a pretty good game.
It's a team game. Drawing attention to yourself by being "entertaining" isn't all that classy. #BFIB #unwrittenrules
The thousands of collegiate employees who have made their schools and the NCAA untold millions would tell you I'm righy.
You know what else we should do? Invent an economic system where labour, particularly highly specialized labour, has value and is entitled to negotiate for themselves a percentage of the revenues that their labour generates regardless of whether their employer calls themselves a school or church or whatever.
I don't think this decision by itself will undo the chokehold the NCAA has had on its athletes for decades, but I think it will play a key role in future lawsuits.
